She feels that she is not gorgeous enough for him to remain faithful for a long time. When Peter goes away to Nashville for a recording, her fears reach a new height. She shares her worries with her friend Lydia and her husband. The twist in the story happens when Madeleine finds herself surrendering to temptation. Will this wreck their marriage or will she survive this ordeal? The book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. We see Madeleine feeling insecure about being married to a successful star. Her thoughts, insecurities, fear, and loneliness keep readers occupied. The suspense angle adds to the mystery of the story. The story is fast paced and enjoyable mainly because of the story line. There is also the right amount of humor in the story. All the characters in the book have been portrayed well, giving a much-needed boost to the main characters, Madeleine and Peter. The book speaks about the married life of a young couple and how their relationship faces trials and tribulations. It is a story that will resonate with many married couples. Though the author has written a story that is happening around us, the scenes are not predictable. The fact that it is not a conventional romantic theme makes it interesting book to read. *** "I really loved reading this book! The characters and situations are so believable but not predictable. Got to take a behind the scenes tour into the life of a Christian rock band marriage and the struggles that many marriages face. It is about the importance of having God in our relationships and His plan for purity. I truly believe that this book should be in every household, in the schools, and in youth groups. You are really going to get young people thinking....which needs to be done in this country! I have been changed by it and want to share it with all of you. As a matter of fact, I want to shout about it from the rooftops! But for now...this blog wili suffice! Love, Ellen) The Garden Key, by Angela Dolbear, is a book that could literally change the world. I can say with all honesty that if every man and woman on the planet read this book and let its words sink deep into their souls; when they opened their eyes the following day, they would be transformed. Changed into people who love. Really love. And in a real sense, The Garden Key is about real love. Told in first person, in a voice that I fell in love with immediately, The Garden Key sweeps you into the protagonist’s life; so much so, you feel like part of her story. You experience her joy, her triumph, her failures and her desire for redemption. And because the author walks so closely with God, it is impossible to not be encouraged in your own faith as you travel through novel-time with the main character. Promos for The Garden Key entice the reader with comical, tongue-in-cheek, real-life phrases, dialogue and emotions. Honestly, I was convinced by one line from the web site which said something about ‘lust and cheeseburgers.’ But rest assured, the promises on the back cover can be trusted absolutely. As I read this book, I did indeed laugh often, and I cried with joy aplenty. I wept most when I reached the last page—do you know why? Because the novel ended. Selfishly, I wanted it to go on and on and never conclude. As a matter of fact, I enjoyed this book so much (it was literally un-put-down-able), that when I got to the last 30 pages, I forced myself to stop reading. I would not pick it up for fear of finishing it. For over a week, I peeked at it next to my desk, carried it to my room to peek at it as I went to sleep—but I would not read on. I was terrified to see the last page. I was horrified that this wonderful, sweet, delightful, insightful and encouraging book was about to be finished. I have never read a book like this and I thank God that he led me to read it now. I have no doubt in my mind that I will read it over again many times. And thankfully, the author hinted that she would write another. It will hurt, but I feel like I have to forgive her for her way of life… I must be willing to help her pick up the pieces of her broken heart.”  -- Anonymous ***   “Madeleine’s story is uplifting, sad, funny and even anger can be found in the story. It has been a crazy roller coaster of emotions throughout. The Garden Key, Mind Over Madeleine and Fish Out of Water have been like watching two beautiful, amazing, God loving people, grow up and live their lives together. I am really upset that this journey with Madeleine and Peter is over, but I thank Angela for writing these beautiful books and I thank God for helping her. Fish Out of Water starts with a huge twist I don't think I ever saw coming. It was as unexpected for me as it was to the characters. (I'm trying not to give too much detail) It follows Madeleine with her struggle to publish her second book while facing a huge change in her life that is about to happen. But when something catastrophic happens, Madeleine and Peter have to try to get through it together and be strong. When on tour with Peter's band, an elderly Italian woman speaks a phrase to Madeleine which she cannot forget. Then, Peter and Maddy get a shocking letter which digs up Peter's past which turns out to be a great change in their lives. I have learnt so much from these beautiful books that I would never have learned without reading them. They have been a blessing in my life and I cannot thank the author enough for her continuous kindness. I recommend everyone to read these books!! No matter what genre you're into, anyone and everyone needs to read them. I cried a few times reading this book and I smiled so much my cheeks hurt. I am SO glad about the ending. There is nothing I can say that will ever do this book justice.

It was truly so exquisite with all of the romance and faith. It is true perfection. The

Garden Key is about a girl named Maddy (Madeleine), who attends a Christian college and

works at a music store. She is what everyone would call a "goth" always wearing black

clothes and thick black eyeliner. She has a crush on a guy who visits the music store she

works in often, but she is always too afraid to talk to him. But God brings these two

amazing people together one day.

They've both had bad pasts of sleeping around with people etc. So when they are brought together by the hand of God, they

have to learn what a true relationship is like. Their relationship with God and each other is truly so captivating and beautiful. I

don't want to give too much away, but I have never read a book that is so romantic but believable. It is a book that will make

you cry, smile and dream about having your very own guy just like Peter's beautiful character.

I think this is the first book I have read that is so faithful and it taught me a lot about God. When you pick this book up, you

won't want to put it down again. No words can ever describe how beautiful, amazing and incredible this book is and I am so

happy that I had the chance to read it. I love everything about this book.

Thank you SO much to the very kind, talented and beautiful @authorangeladolbear for sending me this incredible book. I am

very grateful that I have had the chance to read it.

I highly recommend everyone to read this book, everyone needs this book in their lives.

OH. MY. GOSH. I cannot form the words to describe how absolutely amazing and beautiful this book was. There are no words that can justify this book! It follows Peter and Madeleine's relationship after they get married in The Garden Key. Madeleine is having a lot of doubts about Peter leaving her because he's in a popular band and has women all over him. So she begins to worry that she's not good enough for him and he'll leave her for a more beautiful and super-model type, younger woman. This books faces the struggles of newly-weds and being alone for a long time while Peter is away working on stuff for his band. It was so realistic that it was just like watching a TV show or movie. I loved it. Have you ever read a book and when you finish it, you kind of just sit there trying to think of a good enough word to justify how much you loved it? That's exactly what I did. I finished this book about 10 minutes ago and nothing comes to mind. There are no words possible to describe it. I cried, I laughed, I smiled and I cried some more. This book filled me with joy and then shattered it within one chapter. I absolutely LOVED the faith in this book and how it didn't lose that from the first book. Angela Dolbear's writing is truly wonderful and if I could, I wouldn't sleep just so I could have read this book in one sitting. I have shared my love for this book while I was reading it countless times with @jessa_between_chapters as I spoke about how much I loved it. I can't thank @authorangeladolbear enough for her books. You are truly amazing and so kind. Thank you so much, Angela. Rate: 5/5 Or more like 100/5 stars
